Heritage/Amherst Part 2 Friday Night

Amherst County - It's always a great thing if you're a high school football team and still practicing on Thanksgiving Day.

That means you're making a playoff push.
Two area teams who'll face each other Friday night in one of our headline games are Heritage and Amherst County. The Pioneers won the regular season meeting big 27-0. That game WAS nearly two months ago and played in Lynchburg. This time, the Lancers get homefield with a spot in the state semifinals on the line.
Cecil Phillips, AMHERST CO. LANCERS COACH, said "We feel like we didn't give 'em a game the first go-round. You know a lot of that is a credit to them, you know they created some problems for us on both sides of the ball. But we feel like we didn't execute ourselves."
Brad Bradley, HERITAGE PIONEERS COACH, said "The case that it's another Seminole District team, you know a fellow Seminole District team, just makes it an even bigger matchup for us. But I think our kids are excited about it, we're excited to go into a hostile environment, we're excited to go on the road. And you know this time of year you've got to be ready."
