Heritage Takes Down Salem to Reach Finals

SALEM - Heritage quarterback and Football Friday Player of the Year finalist JeVontae Parrish ran for two touchdowns and threw for one more in the Pioneers' 24-16 win over Salem in the Division Four state semifinals. It was Salem's first loss this year.

Heritage, which improves to 12-and-1 on the season, will face two-time defending champ Briar Woods after they beat Courtland 45-15. Heritage will be shooting for just its second state football title in school history, the first coming in 2002.

Heritage coach Brad Bradley will be going for his third state title as a head coach following two titles with William Campbell. Saturday's Salem-Heritage game was their first meeting since 1998. Bradley, a Salem alumnus, was coaching for the first time against his former Salem teammate, Spartans head coach Stephen Magenbauer.

Game highlights and post game interviews will be on ABC 13 following the Texas-Kansas State game Saturday night.
