Heritage Kicker Delivers at Salem

Lynchburg - Defending state champ Brookville battles James Monroe in the Division 3 title game at noon, followed by the Division 4 title game at 4:30, Heritage and two-time defending state champ Briar Woods.

Senior quarterback and Football Friday Player of the Year Finalist JeVontae Parrish gets a majority of the headlines for the Pioneers, and deservedly so. But one player you don't hear much about really delivered for Heritage Saturday at Salem. Kieran Phelps, after a tough game at Amherst, nailed a key 26-yard field goal with just over a minute left in the 24-16 win.
Brad Bradley, HERITAGE HEAD COACH, said "He was 3-for-3 on extra points. And to me, he said he felt a little nervous against Amherst. And I said if you felt nervous against Amherst, you're really gonna feel nervous against Salem. He didn't worry about that, he really stepped up."
