Lynchburg, VA - A Heritage High School Science Teacher is back in town after running this year's Boston Marathon. This year was Laurie George's first time running the marathon. She says last year's bombing actually inspired her to run. She had run only one other marathon before. George says she spent six months training for the Boston Marathon. She says at the starting line the marathon commissioner shook everyone's hand and thanked them for participating. "That's what we were focused on. We were focused on doing this for the people of Boston and the country to show that terrorism can't win," George said. George says it was tougher than she thought, but she was just happy she beat the four hour mark.
