Heritage Girls, Boys Prepare for States

Lynchburg - The Heritage girls and boys are Region 3 basketball champions and play back-to-back state quarterfinal games this Saturday at the Salem Civic Center. The Pioneer girls are 25-and-2 and face Bassett, the Pioneer boys are 20-and-6 and take on Salem in the first Heritage game at 3:15.

Dan Stephens, HERITAGE BOYS HEAD COACH, said "You know the girls team has challenged us all year long with their play and they're really on a roll. So we're just trying to keep up with them and would love to both get to Richmond together."
Tracie Hayes, HERITAGE GIRLS HEAD COACH, said "This is our first time going to stay here for the girls since back in '78 so that's a LONG time. So we're really excited about the possibilities."
