Help to Avoid Health Care Marketplace Scam
Lynchburg, VA - Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli says scammers are using the federal health care enrollment as a way to get personal information, but there is a place to go for credible help.
Enroll Virginia has set up offices across Virginia, including one in Lynchburg. Amber Poron is the certified Health Care Navigator for Enroll Virginia. Poron can walk people through the enrollment process.
"Their privacy and their security is very important to me," said Poron. "Any personal information that we discuss in the meeting, if anything is written down it will go back home with them. I don't retain any of their personal documents."
Poron is certified for her job. She says you can ask a navigator to see his or her certification, so you know who you're dealing with.
Enroll Virginia is holding workshops all over the area to help people through the health care enrollment process. There's one Friday at 10 a.m. at the Lynchburg Public Library on Memorial Avenue.
