Lynchburg - Harrisonburg used 20 unanswered points to rally from behind and beat E.C. Glass 27-24 in Thursday night's high school football opener at Lynchburg City Stadium.
An 82-yard touchdown bomb from Donnie Morgan to Quentin Garland early in the second quarter gave Glass a 17-7 lead. But Harrisonburg answered with 10 points before the half, seven coming on Matthew Shiflett's 23-yard screen pass TD to Devin Medley. The Blue Streaks knotted the score at 17 at intermission.
The visitors then scored the first 10 points in the second half to grab their first lead. The Hilltoppers would cut the margin to three, but Harrisonburg held on for the 3-point win.
The Blue Streaks are coached by one-time Gretna Hawks head coach Chris Thurman.
