Lynchburg - ODAC leading scorer Colton Hunt of Randolph poured in a game-high 33 points, but Hampden-Sydney broke open a four-point game the final seven minutes and beat the WildCats 79-63.
The Tigers raced to a 14-point lead at the half, but back came Randolph, clawing back to within four with just over seven minutes left.
But that's when Harrison George took over inside, scoring six straight points to push the lead back to double digits, George scored 20 and pulled down 10 rebounds. Tigers teammate Khobi Williamson led Hampden-Sydney with 22 points and 12 rebounds, Mike Murray added 15.
Chris Battaglia was the only other Randolph player in double figures with 12. Hampden-Sydney outrebounded Randolph 46-23 for the game and outscored the WildCats 22-10 the final seven minutes to blow it open.
Hampden-Sydney improves to 16-and-2 overall, 8-and-1 in the ODAC, Randolph falls to 15-and-3 overall, 6-and-3 in the ODAC.
