Roanoke, VA - The 13th Annual Green Living and Energy Expo is underway at the Roanoke Civic Center.
More than 80 exhibitions are set up in the Special Events Center that range from solar power to electric cars.
The idea of the expo is to educate people on the newest in green technology.
The family event also includes an area for kids to explore.
"We really want people to get a balanced look at what's out there. We've got several solar contractors, for instance, but they all may have a different way of doing it. They may sell different products. We want people to have the opportunity to talk to the experts and then make up their own mind and make decisions based on that," said expo executive director Billy Weitzenfeld.
There is no charge for the event which runs through Saturday until 4 p.m.
