Just before midnight, officials were called to the restaurant after someone spotted smoke coming from the building.
Officials say a deep fat frier was left on, causing a grease fire.
The flames were put out by the building's fire sprinkler system - and officials say damage was minimal.
Officials say afterward crews noticed a propane tank behind the building was leaking propane.
They say the health department will do a check of Captain D's Monday morning and the restaurant may be able to open.
