Martinsville, VA - Governor Bob McDonnell is in the Martinsville area Thursday morning.

He spoke about how even though this region was hit hard with the recession, people have still kept a great spirit.
McDonnell also talked about education and how important it is for good education to be available to everyone.
After the Chamber, McDonnell went to RTI in Martinsville, where they celebrated the first production of certified commercial aerospace titanium in this facility.
"The pain is still here in Southside Virginia, I understand it, I feel it. I've heard it at the Chamber of Commerce this morning, and we remain absolutely committed to finding more ways to bring business down here," said McDonnell.
Congressman Robert Hurt joined him in both places.
The governor then went to the funeral for Trooper Andrew Fox Thursday afternoon.
