Danville, VA-- If you went grocery shopping on Saturday in Danville, you probably saw a food drive as you entered the store.
That's because God's Storehouse had a city-wide food drive in hopes of collecting 25,000 pounds of food.
They exceeded their goal and actually collected over 27,000 pounds of food. They thought collecting all this food would be a great way to celebrate their 25th anniversary, and to make sure they have enough food for the holidays.
The president of God's Storehouse says she was very confident that the community would help exceed their goal.
" I just so believe in this community,"said God's Storehouse Executive Director Karen Harris. "I mean every time that we've seemed to have gotten low on monetary or food donations, the community has come through and they have really showed their support for this today."
If you'd like to make a donation, you can stop by the God's Storehouse on 750 Memorial Drive, Danville. Or you can make a monetary here.
