Gleaning for the World Collecting Items to Help Storm Victims in the Philippines

Lynchburg, VA - The tragedy in the Philippines could easily end up costing tens of thousands of lives.

The official toll so far keeps getting adjusted.

Gleaning For the World's Ron Davidson says one thing is clear: If the country doesn't get help, right now and in the foreseeable future, things will only get more desperate.

"The last report we got, I know the news is saying about ten thousand dead. But they have not done the rescues. We're being told by people on the ground that you're going to be looking at least a hundred thousand people that are going to be dead and probably more," Reverend Ron Davidson said.

Gleaning will be collecting donations at the Lynchburg Sam's Club and the Bedford Walmart through Thursday, at the Forest Kroger Wednesday, and at the Old Forest Road Walmart in Lynchburg Wednesday through Friday.

All of the collections run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

You can also drop off supplies at Word of Truth Ministries in Roanoke from noon until 5 p.m.

And monetary donations are always appreciated.
