Craig County, VA - District leaders in Craig County are running into trouble getting a public hearing to consider a tax increase to pay for school renovations.
Thursday night, the Board of Supervisors deadlocked on setting the hearing in a 2-2 vote.
A fifth member was absent.
The district wants the .02 property tax hike to pay for a $5 million interest free loan from the state.
The renovations would include air conditioning for the high school where last week students went home early twice due to heat.
Another vote is set for October 3.
