Roanoke, VA - A nurses' aide who pawned wedding bands taken from patients will spend eight years in prison.
Brittney Cook was sentenced Wednesday in Roanoke.
Cook and Ashley Sweeney of Franklin County admitted to selling rings that were stripped from the fingers of veterans under their care.
Prosecutors say Cook took the rings from patients at the Virginia Veterans Care Center and gave them to Sweeney to pawn.
They say it was to support Sweeney's drug problem.
Sweeney was sentenced to five years.
