Lynchburg, VA - Virginia University of Lynchburg's former head football coach and athletic director is asking a judge to give him his job back.
Willard Bailey filed a bill of complaint for injunctive relief last month asking the courts to restore his contract with VUL.
In the lawsuit, Bailey claims during this football season, the provost of VUL threatened to cancel several away football games, and that he was fired within 12 days of the away game against North Carolina A&T State University.
Bailey claims various administrators at the school conspired to prevent him from operating a successful athletic and football program by firing several of his staff members.
In an exclusive interview, VUL's President says the football program was never self-sustaining as Bailey had promised, and that the school got stuck footing the bill.
Our special report on the embattled university airs next Tuesday on ABC 13 News.
