Rocky Mount, VA - The former vice president of a Rocky Mount timber company will spend two and a half years in prison for fraud.
Matthew Lester must also repay $1.9 million to several employers and a bank that he defrauded.
Prosecutors say the 38-year-old Roanoke County resident submitted false reports about International Log & Timber LLC's assets to obtain money from the company's commercial lender, SunTrust Bank.
Lester later worked as a salesman for Turman Trading in Christiansburg.
Prosecutors say he borrowed money from a customer and repaid part of the loan by giving discounts he wasn't authorized to offer.
