Former School Nurse Pleads Guilty in Murder-for-Hire Plot

Rocky Mount, VA - A former nurse at Sontag Elementary School faces up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty in a murder-for-hire plot.
Cathy Bennett appeared in Franklin County Circuit Court Tuesday morning and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder. She will be sentenced on October 17.
Prosecutors say Bennett conspired to help her co-worker, Angela Nolen, hire a hit-man to kill Nolen's ex-husband.
The hit-man was actually an undercover state police agent.
Bennett was out on bond and was taken into custody.
Nolen pleaded guilty to a charge of solicitation to commit murder back in June. She will be sentenced on September 20th.

Franklin Co., VA - A school nurse charged with conspiracy to commit murder is expected to enter a plea in Franklin County Circuit Court today.
Cathy Bennett, 37, was the nurse at Sontag Elementary School when she was charged earlier this year. She is accused of helping co-worker Angela Nolen hire an undercover state police agent to kill Nolen's ex-husband.
According to online court records, Bennett is expected to appear in court at 9 a.m. for a plea. She has been out of jail on bond.
