Former Halifax County Sheriff Pleads Guilty

Halifax Co., VA - Friday morning, former Halifax County Sheriff Stanley Noblin pleaded guilty to embezzlement in circuit court.

As part of a plea agreement, Noblin pleaded guilty to five out of seven counts of embezzlement.
The prosecutor says he will not be pursuing the other two counts of embezzlement and 14 counts of forgery.
Noblin admits to using more than $100,000 of sheriff's office funds for personal use during his time as Sheriff.
Sentencing will be in October.
