Bedford Co., VA - A former Bedford County supervisor will spend one year behind bars for embezzlement and money laundering.
Tony Ware appeared in court Monday morning for his sentencing. He pleaded no contest to 12 charges, including embezzlement, earlier this year.
Besides the year in jail, the judge also ordered Ware to pay back the more than $295,000 he stole. The charges stem from his connection to the Big Island Fire Department and the estate of an elderly woman.
Ware also took money from two children who were supposed to be the beneficiaries of a fundraiser.
