Forensic Advancements Help Further 30-Year-Old Investigation of Slain Trooper
Manassas, VA - Tuesday marked 30 years since a Virginia State trooper was stabbed to death.State Police are working with new information to find the person responsible. On August 19th, 1984, Trooper Johnny Bowman answered the door at his Manassas home and was stabbed multiple times. Whoever attacked him left behind eyeglasses, a wig, and a construction hard hat. Since then, police have been following multiple leads. They say as technology improves they are generating more information for investigators from DNA found at the scene. There is a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
