Summary: Coach Rice and a number of players deemed last year's 6-6 record a success and now they have to improve upon that. Senior QB Ryan Crist is back and will attempt to break his own single-season school passing yardage record that he set last year. He'll have three of five starting offensive linemen returning to protect his pocket. The coaching staff's primary focus in the offseason was on "defense, defense, defense." In four of their six losses last season they allowed 63 points to Brookville, 62 points to Amherst County, 56 points to Heritage, and 61 points to Rustburg. That simply cannot happen again if the Cavaliers want to improve upon last season's playoff finish.
