Summary: The junior class is loaded but the senior offensive linemen are the ones the Colonels have to count on to get them back into the playoffs. A number of players who won the 2013 Division I basketball state title are on the football team that advanced deep into the 2012 postseason. QB Juan Thornhill is back and he has plenty of weapons surrounding him. The Johnson twins - Demetrius and Darius provide big targets and Demitre Maulbeck is an excellent slot receiver. The Colonels have a stretch at the end of September and the beginning of October where they face the top contenders in the Dogwood District - at Appomattox, home against Gretna, and at Dan River. Those three games, in consecutive weeks could make or break their district title hopes.
