Football Friday Preview: Franklin County Eagles

Franklin County will be a team to beat this year coming off a 9-3 season that ended in the second round of the Division 6 playoffs.

The Eagles have talent, depth, and coach Chris Jones says the offensive line will be the strength of his team. They're a little inexperienced at the skill positions. Alex Keys and Kyle Ellis are battling for the quarterback job.

Linebacker Zach Schiemann said, "We're going to be a mean family. That's what we're going to be. We're a mean family. We're going to be together but we're going to knock your head off."

"We're going to try to go farther than we've ever been but our schedule is tougher than it's ever been here. We play some outstanding teams. It's going to be a tough road to hoe but we're going to have to get after it every Friday night," Jones said.

Their season starts Friday August 26th at home against William Fleming. Then they'll run into Woodbridge, Salem, Magna Vista, Bassett, Christiansburg, GW and Patrick Henry throughout the rest of the season.
