Football Camp Teaches Players Safe Way To Play

Young football players are getting a "heads up" on the competition this week.

The "Kids And Pros" football camp in Lynchburg is teaching kids the proper fundamentals of football. Several former NFL stars are instructing campers, including NFL All-Pro and EC Glass alum Ruben Brown.

The camp is run by former Atlanta Falcon Buddy Curry, who says the techniques can help the next generation of players reduce their chances of injury. Says Curry, "Well, it's important for kids to learn how to tackle without using their head. Not how I was taught, or many of the people now that are playing, or have played. We want to teach them at a young age, so they develop good habits."

The camp goes from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday at EC Glass High School in Lynchburg.

Curry says they will also be holding the camp in Danville July 22nd through July 24th.
