Flames Talk About NCAA Opponent N.C. A&T

Lynchburg - The Liberty Flames will face North Carolina A&T in a Tuesday night NCAA Tournament play-in game in Dayton, Ohio.

A&T won the MEAC title Saturday over Morgan State 57-54. LU played Morgan State way back in late November, the Flames lost a tight game by five. Tuesday's winner travels from Dayton to Lexington, Kentucky to face the number one overall seed Louisville on Thursday.
The Flames fly to Dayton early Monday for Tuesday night's 6:40 game against the Aggies.
John Caleb Sanders, FLAMES JUNIOR GUARD, said "You know they're hot, they won their conference tournament but we're hot, too. So I feel like we can play with them. We have to go in there and play our "A" game, be ready, prepare, work hard, but I think we have a good shot at this."
Davon Marshall, FLAMES JUNIOR GUARD, said "They're a good team, they shoot a lot of 3's. They've got a lot of guys on the inside who do work, so just have to buckle down on those areas and stay on top of them."
Joel Vander Pol, FLAMES R-JUNIOR CENTER, said "Coach says it best. You know we try and work like it all depends on us and then pray like it all depends on God. So that was our mindset all year, but I tell you what, we're going through something right now we're never going to forget and this is an opportunity of a lifetime for us."
