Flames Say Norfolk St. Game is Huge

Lynchburg - Liberty and Norfolk State both look to bounce back from season-opening losses to nationally-ranked opponents when they face off Saturday at 4 in Norfolk.

Turnovers killed LU in the loss at Carolina. SIX of 'em helped lead to 56 points for the Tar Heels. Flames redshirt freshman Todd Macon ran for 67 yards and two TDs in his first college game, earning Big South Freshman of the Week honors.

LU has lost its last two meetings against Norfolk State. Players say they can't afford to let that happen again on Saturday.

Todd Macon, BIG SOUTH FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK, said "This is a very big game. You know we've got to get the momentum of our season going. You know we're planning on doing big things this season, we have to get the momentum swing going."

Jacob Hagen, SENIOR SAFETY (27 YD. TD FUMBLE RECOVERY), said "You never want to start off a season 0-and-2. Just look from the big picture, it's an out-of-conference game, in-state, out-of-conference, it's just huge moving forward. Yea, we've got to go down this Saturday and take care of business."
