Flames Eager to Start Hoops Season

Lynchburg - LU men's basketball players got to have some fun taking part in a video shoot the school will use for team intros on game days. The Flames can't wait to get this year started, battling back from an 0-and-8 start last year to eventually win the Big South Tournament championship and advance to the NCAA Tournament.

John Caleb Sanders, FLAMES SENIOR GUARD, said "You know last year we brought in six or seven new guys. This year we only bring in two or three. And so just having everyone back, everyone's on the same page, we're able to get right back to it, I just think we have all the makings to be a great team this year."
Antwan Burrus, MISSED LAST YEAR WITH FOOT INJURY, said "I think the sky's the limit man, if everybody stays healthy, stay focused and we all stay on the same page, I think we can do big things."
Dale Layer, FLAMES HEAD COACH, said "Now it's time really to turn the page because every year is a different year, every team is a different team, a different organism if you will. And we've got to get this one right and not worry about what happened last year. We've got to press forward."
