First Court Appearance For Suspects In Rockbridge Baby Death
Lexington, VA - Three people charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of a seven month old baby were arraigned in a Rockbridge County court Monday morning.
Jake Slagle's parents, William Slagle and Heather Ruley, as well as the maternal grandmother, Patricia Ruley, face five felonies each related to the case.
At Monday's hearing, the three were assigned attorneys.
And William Slagle, who was being held without bond, was given a $5,000 dollar secured bond.
Baby Jake died last August -- from unexpected infant death -- associated with an unsafe sleep environment.
A preliminary hearing is set for March 24th.
