Firefighters Respond to Fire at Roanoke Bakery

Roanoke, VA - A Roanoke bakery was damaged in a fire early Tuesday morning.
Crews responded to the fire at Maple Leaf Bakery on Blue Hills Drive a little before 5 a.m. When they arrived, they found a lot of smoke inside. Firefighters located the fire in the insulation of one of the bakery's large ovens.
Six people were treated for smoke inhalation on the scene.
Officials say the fire caused about $50,000 in damage to the bakery's equipment.
