      Fire Destroys Bassett Superior Lines Plant

      Update Friday 9:25 a.m.:

      Bassett, VA - There's little left of Bassett Superior Lines plant Friday morning after it caught fire Thursday.

      Fire officials say the fire started around 5 p.m. Thursday and burned for hours.

      They say they are not sure what caused the fire. Smoke could be seen almost 20 miles away.

      Officials say crews were working to demolish the building earlier, and a warehouse nearby was not been affected.

      Bassett, VA - Martinsville fire officials say the fire continues to burn at Bassett Superior Lines and some fire crews are still on the scene.

      Bassett, VA - Fire crews are working to put out a fire at the Bassett Superior Lines Thursday night.

      Fire officials say the fire is still burning on the first floor of the building and on rubble in the surrounding lot.

      Officials say they are not sure what caused the fire, and residents say the fire started around 5 p.m. Thursday.

      Officials say crews were working to demolish the building earlier. The new warehouse nearby has not been affected.
