Lynchburg, VA - The family of aLynchburg native who became an Army general got special recognition for hiscontributions Monday.
StateSenator Steve Newman presented a General Assembly resolution honoring BrigadierGeneral George Snead Junior at Westminster Canterbury.
Sneadrecently passed away.
Hisfamily members say they really appreciate the recognition.
"Ithink he valued most the lives he touched whether when he was a leader in theArmy or the ability to interface with people in the community. So he'd be very touched the expression of appreciationand friendship that was here today," said son Ned Snead.
Sneadgraduated from E.C. Glass before going to VMI. He served in the Army signalcorps during World War Two and Vietnam.
