Explosion Injures Man in Henry County, Crews Investigating

Update Thursday:

Stanleytown, VA - Henry County officials say Allen Donley, 46, was the only person injured at Stoneleigh Mansion.

According to the Bassett Volunteer Fire Department, the maintenance worker has first and second degree burns on his face, hands, feet, and ankles.

He is being treated at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem and should be out in a couple of days.


Update 9 p.m.:

Stanleytown, VA - Henry County Investigators say a man was sent to the hospital after an explosion at the Stoneleigh Mansion in Stanleytown. Deputies got the call around 6:05 p.m. Wednesday.

They say a maintenance man working at the mansion drove his truck and hit a propane tank. The accident caused the truck to explode.

Investigators say the maintenance man suffered first and second degree burns. He was flown to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC for treatment.

The mansion didn't suffer any damage, and no one else was injured.
