Even With Affordable Healthcare Act, Free Clinic of Danville Still Needs Support

Danville, VA - Even with the Affordable Care Act and possible Medicaid expansion in Virginia, the Free Clinic of Danville says they'll still have constant traffic.

Staff members say they've had numerous patients inform them that even with subsidies, they're still unable to afford health insurance premiums.

"We feel like we're going to continue to operate how we're doing now and we just want to get the word out that 31 million Americans uninsured 10 years from now, that's a lot of folks, and we know a lot of those folks are right here in our community and we want to be able to serve them and continue taking care of our needs," said Executive Director Denise Buckner.

The Free Clinic of Danville is fully supported by the community.

Staff members say they are always accepting volunteers and financial contributions in order to keep running.
