Editor In Chief of Better Homes And Gardens Visits Danville
Danville, VA -- A special guest came back home to Danville Monday to speak at a Chamber of Commerce breakfast.
Gayle Butler is the editor in chief of Better Homes and Gardens. She grew up in Danville and went to George Washington High School.
She talked about her career path and how she first got introduced to journalism at GW. Butler says Danville has played a significant role in her life and career. She says that the beautiful homes and architecture in Danville and around Virginia gave her an appreciation for art. Butler even said that Danville has an influence in the magazine today.
"That aspect of the home just the comfort and welcome it expresses I saw that in Danville and it is one of the main things we look for in the homes that we publish in our magazine," said Butler.
Butler later spoke with Averett Students, she says her advice to young people is to dream big and do not ever edit your dreams.
