Lynchburg, VA - A Lynchburg student's art will grace the walls of the US Capitol for the next year.

Sixteen-year-old E.C. Glass student Jack McGuinn won the Congressional Art Competition.

He says he enjoys art class at school but never imagined winning an award like this. McGuinn says he's excited that his painting will be viewed by such an importance audience.

"I think that's just like a piece of me is now in Congress too, it's a really cool opportunity," McGuinn saio.

McGuinn will get to meet Congressman Bob Goodlatte at the Capitol later on this month. This is the second time an E.C. Glass student has won this honor.

This is the painting that won him the big award.
