Lynchburg, VA - Members of the E.C. Glass JROTC team are now national champions. This past weekend, they put all their hard work on display in the 2013 Air Force National Drill Competition.
The E.C. Glass color guard took home a first place prize.
As a whole, the team has always done well. In fact, the cadets are the Virginia state champs and have held that title for the past three years.
"I've never been so proud to have troops like this under me in my entire career. It's very rewarding, these people are very motivated and they're inspirational and it's great to see them do so well," said Lt. Colonel Leslie Pratt.
The team is not without obstacles, however. They have fallen below the Air Force's viability requirement, which requires 100 students to be a part of the team. They have 92 but say they are confident they will be able to get their numbers up.
