Bedford County - High school boys soccer, Seminole District leader E.C. Glass scored in the sixth minute last night at Jefferson Forest and the Hilltoppers made that one goal stand the rest of the game, beating the Cavaliers 1-0.
In the opening minutes, Michael Kenny had a header stopped by JF keeper Thomas Cavanaugh. Moments later though, in the sixth minute, Sam Bradford sent a long ball down to Kenny who lofts one over Cavanaugh's head into the goal, the Hilltoppers grabbed the early 1-0 lead.
That's the way it stayed heading into the half, and neither team allowed a goal in the second half.
With the win, Glass improves to 8-and-0 in the district, JF is now 6-2-and-1. The Hilltoppers need to win two of their last four Seminole District games to clinch the regular season title.
