Duo Killed in Ohio Air Show Has VA Ties
Cincinnati, OH - The duo killed Saturday at an Ohio air show has ties to Virginia.
The plane crashed while performing in front of thousands of spectators.
The Associated Press is reporting that Jane Wicker was from Bristow Virginia, about 140 miles northeast of Lynchburg.
Wicker was sitting on top of the plane's wing when it crashed. She was killed instantly.
Charlie Schwenker was the pilot of the plane, and according to the Associated Press, he was from Oakton, Virginia.
A website devoted to Jane Wicker Airshows says Schwenker could also often be found at the "Flying Circus" in Bealeton, Virginia.
Hundreds of spectators were at the Dayton Airshow when their plane crashed.
The air show canceled the rest of Saturday's events after the crash but the show did resume Sunday after a moment of silence.
