Campbell Co., VA - Good news for the dog we told you about Tuesday night with severe neck injuries from an embedded collar.
The funds have been pouring in to help poor Gabriel.
Gabriel was found on Village Highway in Campbell County this week, with his collar so deeply embedded it nearly severed his trachea, but he went in for surgery and veterinarians say that Gabriel is going to be fine.
Animal control needed at least $1500 to cover the surgery. As of Tuesday night, they had collected $500, then Wednesday morning someone donated $1,000.
Money is actually still coming in, so Campbell County Animal Control plans to start "The Gabriel Fund" to help other animals unless the donor wanted it only for Gabriel.
Animal control officers are still working to find Gabriel's owner.
