Roanoke, VA - A Roanoke City Councilman says he has seen enough of the domestic violence plaguing our area and is doing something he hopes will make a difference.
There's seminar coming up to bring regional governments, support agencies and the community together to exchange ideas and strategies to combat the problem.
It's called "Strengthening Families: A Community Conversation About Family and Intimate Partner Violence."
The seminar is September 19 at the Roanoke Civic Center.
"Talking about the valley and the neighboring counties. To talk about the best practices to deal with this issue; a taboo issue that nobody wants to talk about," said Pastor Sherman Lea with the Roanoke City Council.
