Dixie Youth State Coach Pitch Tourney in Appomattox

Appomattox - Action in the Dixie Youth State Coach Pitch Tournament continued Monday night in Appomattox, the Forest Pirates battled unbeaten Dinwiddie National.

Dinwiddie had a big first inning, Ryan Hite's rbi single one of six runs in the frame. Forest scored two of its own in the opening inning, Caleb Carroll singled to center, plating Ethan Green and John Simmons.
Forest would tack on two more runs, one in the fourth on Mason Harris' hit to left.

But Dinwiddie National won 11-4, Dinwiddie American also eliminated Appomattox 8-4.

2-and-1 Timberlake faced 3-and-0 Madison Heights in another game. After Madison Heights scored six in the first, Timberlake stormed back with six of its own, Maxx Newman's shot to left brought in a couple. Madison Heights, though, rallied with three more in the second, Dalton Wentz had three hits, this one drove in a run. David Travis and Caleb Knight also had three hits for Madison Heights. Timberlake kept coming back but Madison Heights wins a thriller 12-10. Madison Heights advances to the title game in its bracket and earns an automatic berth to the World Series.
