Lynchburg, VA - Lynchburg held a banquet at Phase 2 Thursday night to highlight engineers week.
Local Engineers dined alongside students from Lynchburg city schools, Sweet Briar College, Liberty University, and VMI -- as they listened to roboticist Doctor Glen Henshaw from the Naval Research Laboratory.
The event was designed to get students excited about the importance of engineering in the future.
"It's exciting to see the number of young people here because in our nation we need more engineers. In our nation, If you look at where we're short, and where there's job opportunities, it's in the engineering fields,"said Aeronautical Engineer Paul Myers.
Myers said the U.S. has fallen behind other countries and needs to continue to push and create engineers.
