Lynchburg, VA- Developers of Lynchburg's 5th Street are spreading the word that construction there is almost done.
The 5th Street Community Development Corporation and the Lynchburg Neighborhood Development Foundation are hosting a festival this Saturday to highlight what the area has to offer.
They're hoping to attract both new residents and businesses to the corridor, because some of the buildings they're renovating will be half median-income housing, and half commercial space.
Some of those buildings will even be open this Saturday so folks can get a look at the plans.
"702 Fifth Street which is going to be open, and a part of the fair. And we're actually looking at possibly side by side, one side commercial and one side residential," said Cindy Sommers, Interim Executive Director of the Lynchburg Neighborhood Development Foundation.
Saturday's festival runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will have food, music and activities for the kids.
