Raphine, VA - A group of Shenandoah Valley businessmen are planning a new travel and cultural center along I-81 that is expected bring to in thousands of tourists.
The AWASAW Artisan Center is being planned for the farm fields just off Exit 205 in Raphine.
The site chosen is 215 acres and would be next to White's Travel Center.
Once completed, the $12 million project will be similar to the Tamarack attraction on I-77 in West Virginia.
If all goes according to plan, the travel center will be up and running by summer 2014.
