Deputy Tases 12-Year-Old Following Robbery in Amherst Co.
Amherst Co., VA - Investigators in Amherst County say a deputy had to use a taser on a 12-year-old boy after he attacked a deputy following a robbery.
The Amherst County Sheriff's Office was called to the scene Wednesday at about 8 p.m. on Main Street in Madison Heights.
Investigators say the 12-year-old and 14-year-old, two brothers, had assaulted and robbed another teenager.
They arrested the 14-year-old without incident.
When they tried to arrest the other, that's when investigators say the boys' mother got involved and the 12-year-old attacked the deputy.
They say they used the taser after spending several minutes trying to arrest him.
The boys are being held in the Lynchburg Juvenile Detention Home.
Their mother was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest and was released on bond.
