Obama's Campaign Responds to Ryan's Speech in Danville
Danville, VA - Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan stopped by Piedmont Precision Machine Company in Danville Wednesday morning to talk to a crowd of hundreds.
A prop on hand for Ryan's speech was a national debt clock. It's one he says President Obama created.
But Ben LaBolt, national press secretary for the Obama-Biden campaign, says Ryan is a part of that mounting debt too.
"Congressman Ryan should have signed his name on that debt clock because he voted for the major drivers of the deficit. The trillion dollar tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires that didn't' fuel the job creation that was promised. Two wars we put on a credit cardand an unfunded prescription drug benefit," he said.
LaBolt says the president has a plan to reduce the deficit by $4 trillion in a balanced way that follows the recommendations from bipartisan debt commissions.
