Lynchburg - Winston-Salem banged out a Carolina League season-high 20 hits and piled up 15 runs as they cooled off first-place Lynchburg 15-6 Wednesday night.
Tough outing for Lynchburg's Mark Pope who gave up nine runs in less than four innings of work. It was 5-3 Dash in the fourth when Chris Curley's rbi single to left-center plates the first of four runs in the frame. The Hillcats even got a nice break in the inning when Mark Haddow is called out at second, looked like he had it swiped, he couldn't believe it.Two batters later, one-time Virginia Cavalier Jeremy Farrell CRUSHED a two-run homer to left center, ending Pope's day and running the lead to 9-3. Ross Heffley homered early for Lynchburg and drove in three runs.But the Dash rolled to the big win, the series finale is Thursday night at 6:05.
