Danville, VA - The building for I.W. Taylor Elementary School in Danville, which closed at the end of last year, will soon be occupied again.
Carlisle School plans on moving into the building at the beginning of next year. Carlisle School is a private school on the Southside.
They will move their Chatham and Danville locations to the Taylor building. It will be Pre-K through 5th grade. The school has a three year lease at Taylor which can be extended. School officials say this will be a big benefit because they will have a gym, library, computer lab, and playground.
"We are so very excited about this opportunity. The parents are thrilled, the children are excited, and we cannot wait for the move," said Neal Meyer, Lower School Director.
They plan to have about 130 students in the new building, which can hold more than double that amount.
