Danville Will Not Get Emergency Sirens For Now

Danville, VA - Danville will not be getting emergency sirens for now.

Fire Chief David Eagle spoke to city council Tuesday night about the possibilities. He says the costs are just too high. Eagle said it would cost the city between $300,000-400,000 to install them and then $3,000 a year to maintain them.
Martinsville recently approved sirens. And some Danville council members hope they can get a grant to one day be able to have them.
